SURFBOARDS

What is agave?

The sisal agave is a plant that can be used to produce sustainable wooden surfboards. Its air-filled fiber stalks are the most foam-like natural material available on the market, which is ideal for wooden surfboards building.

Combined with epoxy resin, this agave blank guarantees great resistance to these agave wood surfboards.

Where does agave come from?

The blanks are produced on one of the world's largest sisal fibre farms in Kenya. Growblanks aims to utilise the agave flower stem, which is considered an organic waste product on the farm, to create an environmentally friendly alternative to conventional blanks. At the same time, the local community is supported through education in the manufacture of this product, which provides them with a sustainable income.

The agave blanks are then imported and distributed in Europe by a German company called ecosurfsupply .
